Loosen the phillips screw on the part of the door panel where you grab to close the door.

I understood that a person should turn the mirror 90 degrees left or right and then pull down and the mirror would come off. You can get to four of the six tabs that hold the cover on by rotating the mirror and looking behind to the back of the housing. It s the housing that covers the entire assembly except the glass. Side mirrors get banged up a lot.

I used a flat screw driver to push up the four tabs that i could see to release them careful not to pry or put pressure on the glass mirror don t want to go down that road. Often times a side mirror cover is the only part of a side mirror assembly that gets damaged. Step 1 remove door panel. Roll down windows remove sail panel fully remove door panel unclip mirror harness connection remove 3 10mm nuts holding the mirror making sure not to drop them into the door and remove old mirror.

Just wondering if someone could tell me an easy way to remove the rearview mirror on a 2002 tundra. Remove the cover on the inside of the mirror. If you are replacing your mirrors this is a quick run down. Pop the plastic cover off of the inside of the door handle then remove the phillips screw inside there.

Mine will not budge and i don t want to break anything.
